Our Michigan Stryker hip lawyers announce the settlement plan for those injured and harmed by Stryker hip implants. Stryker Corporation announced will make settlement payments to individuals injured by its Rejuvenate and ABG II hip implant devices. The total payouts may reach $1.4 billion or more.
The settlement calls for base awards of $300,000 for each failed hip device, and enhanced awards for certain complications suffered during surgical removal and replacement. Only persons who have had the Rejuvenate or ABG II device removed and replaced before November 3, 2014 or those too ill to undergo revision surgery are entitled to compensation under the settlement agreement. Registration for the program will begin in December.
Applicants will be required to supply a Claims Administrator with medical records that prove they were implanted with a Stryker Rejuvenate or ABG II device, that the device failed due adverse local tissue reaction, and that the device with removed and replaced. Qualified applicants should start receiving Base Awards in June or July of 2015. Enhanced awards will be paid several months later.
